Make Money Online - The Beginners Guide for HubPages

Have you ever wanted to make money online but thought it would be too complicated or expensive? Well its really not, I haven't spent one cent on my venture and I've done well making money online. Its getting better day by day: I get more hits, I get more income, and I'm enjoying myself every step of the way! I've started making money writing after my day job about different topics, communicating and researching different aspects of cashing in online.

The biggest misconception is that you need to know HTML or JavaScript to publish online - while it may help it is not needed. With little effort you will be able to find out how to implement different snippets of these languages to help yourself make money online when you need them.

I started off where I am now - on HubPages. This place is great in so many ways! Not only has everyone been friendly and very helpful toward each others best interest but its a great step to get an idea of what it takes to get started making money online, basically hands on training.

Affiliates you can use with HubPages:

Adsense

You can monetize your Hubs with Google Adsense to make a passive revenue as your visitors read they are exposed to ads, you get paid for ad clicks - this has been my main source of income so far. As easy as entering your affiliate code under My Affiliate Settings after you have been approved by Adsense. You may need a Hub or two to get approved.

Amazon Associates

Amazon is great for passive income, also with zero overhead and very simple to integrate with HubPages after signing up with this Amazon Associate link. Enter your affiliate code and all items you link to on HubPages are tracked from there. Now look for items on the Amazon site and add some of their ASIN or ISBN codes into an Amazon capsule inside of your hub, pick its placement and visitors decide if they want to buy. Amazon's capsule is shown on the right as set up.

I have not tried integrating Ebay with so you will need to follow HubPages FAQ here.

As for Kontera I do not get enough traffic yet to use their ads as you need to make over a certain amount for a payout. You may want to give it some time also but here is information for setting up Kontera on HubPages.

Trouble adding your Hubs to Google Adsense? Login to Adsense and go to the tab Adsense Setup, click on channels then URL channels. Next click "+ Add new URL channels" enter your hub URL here and click the add channels button, nothing more. You will need to do this to track earnings with every Hub you publish. Some screenshots below.

Trouble adding HubPages to Google Analytics? Just login and scroll to the bottom of the landing page and click Add Website Profile». Then make the profile page look like the picture below and click finish. You can track all of your Hubs individually with just this one profile.

This will mostly decide how your Hubs perform on the internet. If you don't research Search Engine Optimization (SEO) you will not get placed very well in search engines, without search engines you don't get new visitors or visitor loyalty, you don't increase income! So its is a very good idea to research and research SEO well.

One tool I use for SEO is Google Adwords Keyword Tool. Its probably one of the most useful tools to find how many searches are made online for topics and much more info when you look around. Another tool I often use is Google Trends, which shows the popularity of different search topics.

So what to do with this information? Well you want Google's web crawler to search your Hub and see different keywords which helps display the correct ads pertaining to roughly the first paragraph of your Hub and your title. You would want to mention your Hubs topic at least 3 times inside of your first paragraph, which may make for some interesting reading, but it works!

Some great ways to get your site noticed other than SEO is to advertise yourself. Its best to link any social websites, forums and blogs you regular at to your Hubs so you get traffic from them - if there is a WWW field for your profile use it. You can submit your own Hubs to social bookmarking sites also but please don't spam them, and remember to participate on the site other than just submitting your own links!
